What is GAASAY?

GAASA at Yale, or GAASAY, aims to cultivate a home away from home among African American students descended from enslaved people in the U.S. and the Black Yale community at large.

By being in community with one another under the context of what it means to be Generational African American, a term coined by Reverand Isaiah Webb, we seek to define our heritage and celebrate our culture on Yale’s campus.
